Some believe anyone can drywall. At Allied we don’t see it that way. As a drywaller, you install plasterboard to ceilings or interior walls. Outside of these skills, we expect drywallers to have the ability to frame with metal, insulate, as well as installing ceiling structures. You’re also an amazing person! TAPER


As a taper, your specialty is to prepare the surface of walls and ceilings for the final paint or other finishes. Sanding is an art that brings the perfect level of finish required to meet specifications. Countersinking screws and inspecting the plasterboard for deficiencies are standard procedure for you. You must also be able to actively participate in Allied’s safety program. Framer

FRAMER


As A framer, you are a skilled commercial carpenter. You can accurately read and understand blueprints, measure and layout surfaces according to those blueprints and use all tools with precision including tape measures, cutting tools and fastening devices. You can also hang drywall, use lifts when necessary as well as installing ceilings, according to plans. You must also be able to actively participate in Allied’s safety program. INSULLATOR

INSULATOR


As an insulator, you can measure and cut insulating material to specific dimensions and apply insulation using appropriate installation methods. You must also be able to fit insulation around obstructions, install vapor barriers and apply metal cladding. Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements is always an asset. You must also be able to actively participate in Allied’s safety program. As a project manager, you develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of projects, select and coordinate work of subcontractors, and you work closely with finance and Construction Managers to ensure details aren’t missed. You review reports, check on any reported difficulties, contribute in tracking production, schedules and associated costs to achieve completion of a project within time and monies allocated. You have 5 years of experience and are knowledgeable in Framing and Drywall, have OSHPD Experience and have strong computer skills and scheduling software experience. You’re also an amazing person! CONSTRUCTION MANAGER


As a construction manager, you have a focus on quality and productivity. You work closely and cooperatively with the Project Managers to develop work plans that will achieve optimal efficiency and contribute to successful execution across each project in Allied’s portfolio. You have an eye for detail ensuring projects are built according to approved plans and specifications and that efficiency in labour and materials maintain high-quality standards. We expect a good Construction Manager will continuously review, maintain, and update
the construction schedule making sure milestone and completion dates are always met. You also oversee material and inventory management practices on the project site and report any deviations from planned processes to the Project Manager. You’re proactive in identifying and resolving issues with both crews and GC’s that arise from time to time. Educational Requirements are a journeyman ticket, Red Seal certification, a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a supervisory role with a strong safety record. You’re also an amazing person! As Project Coordinator, you work closely with the Project Manager to report information to the project team leaders, run reports and analyze data to ensure that costs are assigned to the appropriate account, preparing work authorization forms for new contracts, modifications, and job closures. Assisting in set up of subcontracts, working with Accounting to help in project maintenance, keeping the projects in good financial health, and maintaining project accounting files is also required. Two or more years’ relevant experience is expected. You must have strong problem solving, organizational, people, math and accounting skills, be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, have excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to pay attention to detail, exhibit systematic and orderly planning skills and have the ability to work cohesively with team members. HR & TIMESHEET ADMINISTRATOR

As a timesheet administrator, you are a critical connection between the office and the field. Allied has a punch system to ensure all site time is tracked accurately. You are good with people and have no problem contacting field crew to help them follow procedures and assist as required to answer questions while ensuring we reach 100% accuracy in clocking in and out. As HR administrator, you are responsible for administrating all HR related documentation including employments contracts, recruitment processes, software, etc. You have great written and verbal communication skills, you enjoy working with people and are tactful and diplomatic.

ESTIMATOR

ESTIMATOR


As an Estimator, you are capable of leading and closing bids for Drywall Construction projects with values up to $5 million. This position requires you to be able to analyze costs while preparing estimates for costs of materials, labor and equipment. You are also responsible for distributing and maintaining control of bid documents. Communicating with Allied Management and Construction Supervisors to develop and make adjustments to proposal packages is a key component. 5 years of related drywall estimating experience is preferred. You must have strong strategic planning skills with attention to detail, demonstrated computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Plexxis Software. As a Controller, you have all the important letters behind your name and, as such, are responsible for timely financial statements preparation, including all related reports and audits required by management, auditors, banks, governments, and other groups. You also oversee cash flow management, credit approvals, collections, security requirements, and AP/AR. You develop and implement internal controls, procedures, and continuous improvement projects to facilitate increased coordination, efficiency and timeliness in all departments. You should have a university degree in Finance or Accounting and have attained your accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA). While you may be strict with numbers, you’re also an amazing person! Reporting to the Controller, this important role is responsible for front line management of the accounting department. You are directly responsible for helping plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the operational accounting function. Managing the processing and consolidation of all financial information, including receipts, payments, general ledger, sub-ledgers, inventory, and associated reports is important. This also includes preparing financial statements, supporting schedules, reconciliations, providing assistance with the budgeting, forecasting, and cash management processes. Of course, you will also be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting procedures and supporting the implementation of policies, providing supervision and development to accounting staff members. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have excellent communication skills, are proficient in Accounting software and Microsoft Office. You’re also an amazing person! As part of our accounting team, you are responsible for maintaining vendor data, processing invoices, cheque runs, and distribution. You ensure that all A/P transactions have the appropriate authorization and are in compliance with the organization’s policies. You also assist with month end, organize and manage A/P and A/R files, prepare all bill back invoices, handle bank deposits receipts and invoice customers. You should have a diploma or certificate in accounting, 3-5 years A/P and/or A/R experience, Intermediate MS-Excel capability, be organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. As Purchaser, you build and maintain solid relationships with current and new vendors; prepare purchase orders and arrange materials deliveries for field staff.  You have a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize. You also possess a strong ability to multi-task. Your role requires you to research and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, stability, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and social responsibility. You analyze price proposals to determine best avenues. You will update Plexxis software to reflect accurate purchase orders, delivery dates, and project pricing. You source new products to keep customers competitive and current on market trends. You also communicate all relevant information to other departments in a timely manner and, you maintain records of goods ordered and received. You’re also an amazing person! BRAND MANAGER

MARKETING DIRECTOR


As Marketing Director (Brand Manager), you oversee the strategy and execution of all marketing efforts with a major emphasis on brand development, reputation enhancement, staff engagement, and support of specific internal and external brand measurement targets. You are also responsible for implementing, executing and evaluating marketing plans to advance Allied’s awareness while working with colleagues and vendors to control Allied touch-points including materials to influence staff and clients, electronic marketing communications including all of Allied’s digital assets such as a distinct corporate identity, careers and social sites, social media strategy and outcomes, events and site specific requirement. Some research experience is an asset with the ability to track and measure engagement and brand health. Creating budgets and managing projects to ensure they meet those budgets are also critical. Writing (long copy and display copy) and presentation skills are also required for blogs, social media posts, various marketing material and internal company presentations. Computer proficiency in Adobe software, as well as, Microsoft Office is mandatory. While construction industry experience is helpful, it’s not necessary. Large brand experience and how those strategies can apply to Allied is more important. You’re also an amazing person! SAFETY

SAFETY OFFICER


As Safety Officer, your role is to implement and enforce accepted and approved health & safety work plans and activity hazard analysis (AHA) for Allied’s construction projects. As part of this on-going analysis, you perform job site audits, issue reports, suggest corrective actions and work with field personnel to develop solutions. You are also required to develop job site safety & health plans and traffic control plans, review health and safety related work plans for construction projects, conduct accident/incident investigations, performs job site safety and health inspections and observe personnel compliance with established company, federal, and provincial safety standards. You are also responsible for ensuring all employees on projects are properly trained on job hazards and safe work practices and monitor compliance with routine safety training requirements. In addition, you will maintain accurate record keeping of safety compliance, conduct or arrange periodic training sessions to keep project personnel informed on proper construction procedures and methods, and exercise stop work authority as needed. As a Procurement Manager, you are responsible for the hands-on purchasing and inventory management that coordinates all purchasing activities for the trades and Site Supervisors, including tools and other site equipment. Managing supplier relationships and developing new suppliers when required is also required. Coordinating delivery of equipment to appropriate sites according to scheduling is important to keeping trades busy and constructions schedules on track.
